The board of directors of the Southern California Radio and Television News Association have re-elected officers for the RTNA for 2006. Steve Kindred of KFWB-AM 980 was elected president for an unprecedented third term. “I’m happy to be serving as president again” said Steve. “We accomplished a lot in the past year and I’m looking forward to even more success in the coming year”.

Steve has served on the RTNA board for over a decade. As president he brokered a media parking area at city hall. He’s also pushed for a return of cameras to the L.A. County Courts, and has set up liaisons with the LAPD and Los Angeles World Airports

Paul Button was elected as 1st vice president of the RTNA. Paul is the assistant news director at KCBS Channel 2 and was instrumental in helping blend the KCBS and KCAL newsrooms when Viacom purchased KCAL. Lance Orozco of KCLU-FM was elected 2nd vice president. Lance has won dozens of Golden Mike awards for his reporting, and is the acclaimed producer of the annual Golden Mike awards program.

Gordon Parlova, principal of Pacific-Sierra Management was elected secretary and Rick Terrell was elected treasurer. And in a special vote, film and television star June Lockhart was elected special ambassador of goodwill for the RTNA.

All the board officers are anticipating another good year for the RTNA. The RTNA Board welcomes the new officers and pledges to work with them to continue the good work that was started in 2005.
